The Fitness Center at Caliente Resort and Spa is equipped with the latest in state of the art lifting, cardio and aerobic machines. Manufactured by Body Masters and LifeFitness, two of the best companies in the body building industry, they are designed with the perfect combination of function and safety.
Found only in professional gyms, the Smith and Cross-over Cable machines combine with our free weights and more conventional machines to deliver a full body workout experience, that we promise, you will feel the next day.
Guests will always find plenty of cold water on hand in the fitness center and if you forgot your gym towel, the La Tienda gift shop has an ample supply at cost of $3.00 each. Motel guests may check out towels from the motel reservation desk and are available at no charge if returned at time of check out.

Pétanque
Caliente Resort has four championship quality Pétanque courts. The Pétanque courts are located at the hotel side of the tennis courts, close to the sports pavilion, which has a water fountain and soft drink machine for your convenience. Also, just a few steps away there is a bathroom located at the end of the hotel unit near the children's playground. |

Pétanque, pronounced "pay-tonk", one of Europe's most popular outdoor games, is a distant cousin of horseshoes and a close relative of bocce. The game originated in Provence in the early 1900's. The aim is to toss, or roll a number of steel balls as close as possible to a small wooden aim ball, called "but" or "cochonnet" (meaning "piglet" in French). |
Players take turns, and whoever ends up closest to the aim ball when all balls are played, wins. |
Unlike horseshoes, where the aim stake is fixed, the Pétanque aim ball may be hit at any time, which can completely turn around the score at the last second. No special skill is required and adults can play with children. |

The game of Pétanque is simple, relaxing, lots of fun and a great way to make new friends which makes it the perfect game for Caliente. Last but not least, Pétanque can be (and usually is) played while enjoying a cool drink (the French will go for wine or pastis) and some tasty outdoor snacks! No wonder this extremely pleasant game is rapidly gaining popularity worldwide. |

Water Volleyball
Here at Caliente, players love their water volleyball and we have two temperature-controlled pools so that play can continue year round. One pool is designated AAA/AA for the "Heavy Hitters" and the other is a "Just-For-Fun" pool where anyone, including children, can join in on the fun.
"Volleyball Widows/Widowers" and other spectators who would rather cheer and jeer the teams on than play themselves often surround the pools as play begins. Sprinkle in a few dozen guests and local first timers with the dedicated group of local players that always show up and watch the fun as teams duel for the coveted Drink-Chip prize!
Caliente initiated a player ranking system and structured our water volleyball program to address each player's ability and for the enjoyment of all. Soon, we plan to hold national water volleyball tournaments right here at Caliente Resort. |
So whether you are a ”Heavy Hitter” who wants to compete or a “Just For Fun” type who simply enjoys the water with a little fun exercise mixed in, come on out and join in our weekly water volleyball tournaments, you will absolutely enjoy it!
Sand Volleyball
With two competition-standard sand volleyball courts, we can facilitate any level of play desired by our members and guests. During the summer months, you will be more apt to see groups' playing after the sun goes down or early in the morning.
Playing under the rule standards of a rally point system you will always find the games foremost fun and always competitive. Caliente takes great pride in all of its sports programs and if not sending a team to the nationally noted competitions you will find our name in their sponsorships promoting good sports activities through quality courts and equipment. |

NTN, The National Trivial Network is available seven days a week
in Cantina Calypso Sports Bar starting at 11am. Play against your friends, other guests or against the entire Country;
all right in the bar! This is a great way to meet new people
and enjoy the relaxed atmosphere of the Cantina. Why sit home and watch TV when you can come out and join in all the fun!
